Everyone wants the government to run everything in our lives, that is until the country goes broke trying to provide for everybody. Then they look around and say, "what happened?" Well let me tell you what happened. Money does not grow on trees. This country is so far in debt it is pathetic! We cannot afford more government run programs. Maybe you folks are just being selfish and want things to run hunky dorey until you're dead and buried. When social security dries up, you will all be screaming "foul"! Wake up and smell the coffee ladies. Government run programs should be the last thing we ask for. We need more competition between insurance companies, whether it is in state or out of state. Competition drives down costs, for everything. Politicians have ruined everything they touch, keep them out of our lives, period!

Beth, I am on Medicare plus NC state health insurance for Part B. I have no complaints at all. I would far prefer government handled health insurance to private insurance companies to set themselves above physicians and are more concerned with paying share holders than providing health insurance.

And I am royally p******ed at Obama for not holding tight to his campaign promise for the public option. Simply passing a bill that makes everyone uninsured pay for private insurance company health care is nothing more than using our tax money to underwrite an unreliable private segment of the economy.

I believe we need to have a strong public option if nothing else. Many people who're insured seem to have shortfalls. Do you have any complaints about your Medicare? I rarely hear anyone complain, and that's run by the government. I'm being simplistic about it, but am anxious to get some discussion going on this topic.

I think we should have single payer insurance. Since that is unlikely, I certainly would argue for a public option so that we do something more than legislate more of the public's money into the coffers of the insurance companies.
