International Picnic Day (June 15; true date 18)
On this day, we celebrate this popular summer tradition by enjoying the cool shade of the Reservoir Park shelter. We will travel to Reservoir Park and enjoy a picnic. We will pack our favorite foods and head to the beautiful Reservoir Park to enjoy nature and the water. We will meet at the Douglass Community Center (you can meet us there as well) at 11:15 am. Banana Split Day (June 7; true date June 3)
Bananas were introduced to the U.S. fofr the first time in June, 1876; and in 1876 ice cream could be bought commercially. Both events made the banana split possible. Alamance Battleground State Historic Site (April 14) The site where Royal Governor William Tryon led the NC militia against the Regulators in battle on May 16, 1771.
