March 14 – Irish – American Heritage Month (12:15 – 1:00 pm)

Irish-American Heritage Month is a special proclamation issued yearly by the United States President or Congress to honor the achievements and contributions of Irish immigrants and their descendants living in the United States. The heritage month is in March to coincide with the Irish national holiday on March 17, Saint Patrick’s Day. Heritage Months are usually proclaimed to celebrate centuries of contributions by a group to a country.  A representative from the Southern Pines Public Library will be here to talk about the history of this special event.  We will enjoy Irish soda bread and green punch!  Event will begin at 12:15 pm in the DCC auditorium. Sign up by March 5.  Cost is $3r/$6nr.
