Outside the Box Photography & Graphics

To shoot or not to shoot, that is the question most asked of me.  How do you know when to take a picture?  The answers to that question are as numerous as there are people with cameras!  The best suggestion I can make to that question would be to take any and all shots you want.  Especially in this digital age, all you have to do is delete photos you do not like when you download them.  My next best suggestion would be to focus NOT on the large picture, but to narrow down to a point of interest in the scene.  The large picture is nice too, but if you are trying to get a point across, remember something in particular, or there is only part of the scene you want, zoom in and get just what you want.  Of course, if you have any kind of editing program with your camera, you can crop a picture down also.

During the snow this past week, I had more messages from friends and customers saying they could not wait to see what my camera would come up with.  Let me tell you, there were MANY beautiful photos out there!  What I look for, however, are those snippets of a scene that just stand out to me.  Attached are a few of the photos I got.  You will see that in my two favorites, you can clearly see only what I wanted you to see.

You, on the other hand, may like taking photos of different things than I do.  Know what?  That is perfectly fine!  We don’t all like the same things.  Hopefully my suggestions will help you take better photos of what YOU want to see.  When you paint, the canvas tells your story.  When you write, the words say it all.  When you sing, the music carries the soul to great heights.  When you take a photograph, the picture holds the beauty.  That is my main point!  Make sure you are aiming at exactly what you want to see in that picture.

Enjoy the photos, take my suggestions for what they are worth to you, and happy shooting!  Creat splashes of joy by capturing moments of beauty that will last forever!
